Turbos, Knock Sensors, and Bloody Knuckles

like coolant for one, waiting for my little brother to drop off my greddy water temp sensor and bung I gave him. I feel like such a fucking Indian giver for asking for it back but hey I got a Megan racing one he can have instead.Plus he only needed the oil temp gauge, and I hooked him up with an exhaust temp gauge too.

So I started the day off by re-installing the manifold, tightening mostly all of the lines except for the water neck line since that’s where I will be installing the temp gauge (water).

Seriously I hate those two godamned bolts on the bottom side in the middle of the manifold, I always drop them and have to manhunt for their location.


I after getting the manifold re-acquainted with the engine block, I introduced my car to my friend hammer. Not MC. Obviously.


And just in case I also took my dremel to town on these lower bolts, for some reason I had some odd paranoia that they were touching the downpipe as well. Better safe than sorry!

Now they look much better.


This particular indentation on the downpipe in the stream of pie cut welds is why I shaved those bolts.

New found clearance, awe, now vibrate rampantly against my chassis.

I dropped this piece of shit to inspect it, seems to be good to me. Still don’t understand why the fuck they have two prongs when only one wire goes to them.


a short 12hex, swivel socket, and tons of extensions are the best way to get an sr20det knock sensor out from the bottom. (if you’re smart and remove your intake manifold brace if before you drop in your engine.) Totally unnecessary.


Threw in 4 quarts of Mobil 1 5-30 and call it a day.

If you've come here then you have decided to undertake the task of wiring up an s13sr20det motor for use in a 1995-1998 240sx. This isn't the end all guide or going to go over problem free for you if it's your first time wiring up an engine. But it will get you set on the right path. - Wayne Tips before you get started on buying stuff. make sure you only use adhesive heat shrink. Just so happens a strand of h/s I bought wasn't adhesive and the solder ended up corroding causing shorts/issues. Just gonna do a random photodump and just chat about some things. Embedding some you tube shorts as well. I previously mentioned how I was going to upgrade to hid's and led corner lights and turn signals. But I also wanted to black everything out, light output at night shouldn't be affected. May be a bit harder to see things during the day but I'm not too worried about it. The oem stuff was already pretty hard to see during the day anyway as shown in the example below.  So here is the final result of the headlight and corner light tint, I still have my old oem signal markers in. I was waiting to pick up my led ones from paint as there just was no way I was going to be able to wrap them. This is going to be a three part blog of some sort. I had been traveling to the 240 tuesday meets which are about 60 miles away from me and I head home to a lot of freeway and road construction so I can't see a damn thing. Normally I've never had any issues with my halogen projectors on the kouki headlights. But I've always been curious about doing an HID swap.  After seeing Hugo's s14 with dancing leds on his Zenki I was curious about getting some done for my car.
