Oil Pan Thun-durr
Here’s a video, if you don’t want to watch, you’re more than free to read.
I took the opportunity to partake in installing my s14 oil pickup I purchased sometime in 2008.
The car is up on stands because I need to remove the turbo to drill a bolt out, but before I can remove the turbo I had to drain the oil. Because I have to remove the lines, blah blah long story short.
I decided to kill two birds with no stones. Cause that’s what we do here, fuck birds.
Also, I noticed this while under my car, lulz.
It’s almost like the wire was cut or yanked out *shrugs*
Anyway after getting the oil drained and a bit of the radiator fluid. I got sick of working on the car, seriously was un-motivated, mainly because after all of this is said and done. I have to go through the extreeeeeemely retarded process of getting the car back on the floor. And I want to twist the front coils down about 3 grooves against my better judgment.
I got all of the bolts out yesterday and said fuck it.
Anyway, where was I.
Yeah, that’s where I was. I dropped the oil pan, still a good deal of oil in there that spilled on me only to have these drifters floating in there. The feeling I got in my stomach was indescribable. It felt like someone punched me in the balls, just sharp pain all inside of my stomach. Jumping to conclusions, freaking out, text messaging people the game is over. Seriously I turned into a straight bitch.
I almost fainted, seriously I had been light headed the rest of the day.
Shit broke a nigga’s heart.
I took all of the crap out of the pan and threw it on a napkin, then grabbed my magnetic oil pan plug I never installed.
And then proceeded to rub it against the foreign objects. My car doesn’t have timing chain guides on the chain, so at first that’s what I thought it was, because I dropped one of the nuts to the timing belt tensioner on my KA’s down in the front cover and heard it land in the oil filled pan.
So I regained some hope.
Just an FYI as I am sure this has been posted on many upgrade how to’s.
Since I have an s13 sr20det (redtop) the oil pickup is small, and turbo motors love oil. I just wanted to point out the S13 pickup has an O ring that mattes to the block. The S14 oil pickup uses a metal gasket you will need. YOU WILL NEED.
S13 oil pickup does not need the gasket since it is o-ringed. Why they went with a gasket, who knows?
