Sanding Day 3

I was really lazy due to the fact it was hotter than a fat mans gooch outside, so I sat in front of the computer all day working on some photoshop imagery. Then the UPS man rang my doorbell, along with the fed ex lady.

Some volk lugnuts arrived today and my 52mm greddy gauge holder arrived. Sweet.

Gauge holder install was like a 5 minute dealio.

Around 7:30pm I finally went outside and got back in the jamb’s ass with the paper.

IMO I think that will be good enough for now until I remove other things to get those jambs painted up, and I wont even get to that point until the doors are removed. Which I will be doing at the body shop. No point in dismantling the car here. At 90 percent prep as I plan it I should have it in and out of the shop in the same weekend. And back in the garage to do the color sanding, cutting, and buffing.

going to remove the cars antenna and most likely pop out that rear window tomorrow along with the trim so I can sand all of that stuff under it.

that’s bare metal, it’s damned near impossible to sand this car with a block so I am just using my bare hands and the paper, it gets a bit annoying once the paint starts to bubble up the paper slips out of my fingers, I dip it in my water tub, wipe the panel down with my sponge, and go at it until the paint bubbles off. I make sure to hit every area evenly as well, if the water breaks away from the panel fast as if it’s waxed, I will sand more in those spots.

here I took the block and sat at the hub and went in an up and down motion clockwise and then counter-clockwise until I hit the whole area up.

and basically at the end of the day you have this as the result.

The driver side is pretty much ready to primer.

Once the doors are removed from the car I will complete the prep around the backside of them and most likely will take a heat gun to get that oem sticker off of the inside.

thanks for reading.
