Did Work... instead of being @ work. FML
gosh, there is a lot to write, so like my last forum update. I'm writing this dousan style.
-wake up 6:30am shower, hit road by 7:30am to baker precision.
-get there, they're closed until 8:30am =/ I woke up early for nothing.
-get small ps cooler, 9 feet of -6 aeroquip hose.
-head to jordan innovations yet again to inconvenience him.
-have romantic breakfast together @ farmer boys (mad homo)
-head back to lab, start dismantling car.
-pop hood, stupid bolts for headlight brackets fell out, middle hood latch mount broke and was hanging out between intercooler/radiator. DOH!!!
-Jeff works on the lower harness while I remove all old power steering hardlines and high pressure line.
-Jeff foot hurts, he goes inside to enjoy a/c, tv, life, maybe even took a nap, hates me for waking him up. (noon)
-Get hoses off, high pressure power steering line stuck at mounting bracket by a/c.
-AC relocation bracket moved compressor in way, chopped hardline in 2. buh bye!
-Installed fittings into the rack after thread locking them.
-All over the place, was supposed to be @ work at one, it's 3pm
-removed old alternator, removed old adjustment bracket, then said FML had to remove all other belts for new alternator belt. Only to discover it was too tight a fit to work so re-used old belt. All that work for nothing. arg.
-Alternator is dandy, installed, tensioned... installed other belts, tensioned. Now having problem figuring out how to tension power steering pump after rotating stupid whatever it's called that the fitting and line connect to.
-It took a while, got that tensioned, got the new braided high pressure line in, was not easy.
-needed new -10 hose for reservoir Jeff had one laying around. snagged it, cut it, stuck it, clamped it. rubbed it down, oh noes!!!
-got the power steering cooler on, couldn't figure out how to route the lines since I still have AC, no play room on sides to pull through. Nowhere to mount it, zip tied it through intercooler core fins. lines ziptied to frame rail. Safest place to be.
-double checked lower harness before re-installing. stupid wire came loose, cut loom soldered wires. did a shit job on one, awesome job on number 2. number 1's shittiness is showing during drive to work. (hint, battery and brake light are not supposed to be on while car is on (running) and brake is down.
-Glad I didn't re-sleeve that crap.will fix some other day, not important right now.
-Grabbed other useless bolts off of car, covered in thread locker and fixed my headlight brackets being loose.
-So, power steering is back, rad. sucked not having it... Quest alternator had to be drilled out to accept the size 10? bolt that was time consuming, only had stepper bits to work with. But car cools down a lot faster after some hard driving. Engine power feels a lot more solid. Still reeks of transmission and engine oil.
Got to work @ 5:30pm
-Gay, 4 hours and a half of money lost. Thanks Simone.
