z31 rear calipers, vertex canards, more low?

Not sure if I mentioned in my last blog post that I ordered chargespeed rears, but yeah. That happened. And while I'm on this tirade of collecting cool shit to put on my car I might as well show how Kranze life has been.


Been debating on getting slightly wider front fenders and cranking the camber a bit so I can run a fatter tire up front. I would love to run a 265 rather than the 225 I have up there now. Although steering the car with a 225 is so much easier lol. I just don't like the exposed lip on the wheel. I'm SUUUPER paranoid about parking in the streets now.

Anyway the homie Ted (Avante on Zilvia.net) and I have been trying to coordinate a meet up to change ownership of his vertex canards. While I was really against adding them to my car initially I think that the front of the car seems too narrow and they would be a nice addition to the vehicle. He told me he was going to be in Lake Forrest for a majority of the day so I decided to meet up with him there.

When I got there I kind of laughed and was like "did you dupe me into coming to a car meet?" but apparently this was going on. http://www.hpiracing.com/news/2012031902/ The whole time I had it in my head he was at HPS's factory (Racing Hose), but I was like holy shit hps is doing big things because this is baller town for a hose distributor/manufacturer to be renting a building out here. So HPI would make more sense obviously since people love spending 3-5k on rc cars.

We chilled for a bit and did what cool car guys do, talk shit about other car guys! And the nerds with their cars racing around. 


I had no idea that Ted actually had them painted, I just thought he had them. I was joking that I was just going to install them on my car green haha. I technically have green in my paint so it's not like it wouldn't match.

Decided to stop by my moms house which was out of the way since my buddy Jeff isn't back from San Jose yet, damn Luke Longberger holding up my buddy. My brothers dog Sophie just had "bullboxers" with the other brothers Albino Pit Bull (Ashton).

After hanging out with mom for a bit because dad was out somewhere and obviously didn't plan his weekend around me spontaneously showing up I was on my way back to the 626.... 

GODAMN THAT IS A SEXY CAR!!!

I get home and I check my mail, and low and behold my Z31 caliper brackets have shown up. If you're on the up and up, it's a cheap way to upgrade your brakes rather than doing a whole rear z32 conversion on your s-chassis. This bracket is a little lengthier which allows you to run a 2001-03 Altima rotor and retain your oem rear caliper. The benefit's are great for the minimal price, if you would like to read more about it there is a how to on zilvia.net located here.

If you've come here then you have decided to undertake the task of wiring up an s13sr20det motor for use in a 1995-1998 240sx. This isn't the end all guide or going to go over problem free for you if it's your first time wiring up an engine. But it will get you set on the right path. - Wayne Tips before you get started on buying stuff. make sure you only use adhesive heat shrink. Just so happens a strand of h/s I bought wasn't adhesive and the solder ended up corroding causing shorts/issues. Almost there!

Just gonna do a random photodump and just chat about some things. Embedding some you tube shorts as well. I previously mentioned how I was going to upgrade to hid's and led corner lights and turn signals. But I also wanted to black everything out, light output at night shouldn't be affected. May be a bit harder to see things during the day but I'm not too worried about it. The oem stuff was already pretty hard to see during the day anyway as shown in the example below.  So here is the final result of the headlight and corner light tint, I still have my old oem signal markers in. I was waiting to pick up my led ones from paint as there just was no way I was going to be able to wrap them. Going to try and retain the ability to plug in oem stuff rather than discarding the wiring for strictly led items in case I need to replace anything with off the shelf parts.  This is the oem connector for the corner lights, I have my chassis harness sleeved and loomed in the engine bay and ...

RX330 Projectors, Dancing Led Signals, and Blackout Tint

This is going to be a three part blog of some sort. I had been traveling to the 240 tuesday meets which are about 60 miles away from me and I head home to a lot of freeway and road construction so I can't see a damn thing. Normally I've never had any issues with my halogen projectors on the kouki headlights. But I've always been curious about doing an HID swap.  After seeing Hugo's s14 with dancing leds on his Zenki I was curious about getting some done for my car. I've always wanted some kind of led lights, but clearcorners.com lights were just never in my budget even though Mike Mamos is an acquaintance.
