Dedicated in Memory of Luke Pakula

Image
That was the name of this center cap which magically disappeared during my drive to work last night, good thing these things are 60 dollars a pop. Lord knows I had better things to spend my money on 2 weeks out from Nisei =/ Yes this wheel is dirty, just like the Pollack it's named after =) p.s. luke, go suck it !

goodbye duck lips.

Image
Well my brother ended up being sick and was at home asleep all day. I could've spent it with my girlfriend if I knew. We rushed out to have breakfast this morning at juliennes in san marino. Meet your sugary death!  I had the creme brulee french toast. My buddy kept nagging to try this place. It was okay but I need to try a few more items. I really wanted the chilaquiles, next time. Anyway I rolled to my parents pad in fontucky to meet up with my brother and tag team this body work. But if you saw the opening I ended up resolving some other shit like my brake bias, e-brake cable not working, oh and I cut off my ducklips. And I got to see my other family before all of this started. Here is a horrible picture of me with my other nephew Ernie jr. I haven't been able to spend as much time with my girlfriend or dog as I would like but at least I've gotten to see a lot of folks who I feel are important so I can't say my weeks been a bust.  Back at ...

JC Auto House is legit!

Image
Got a recommendation to hit up JC Auto House for an alignment, my shit was pretty out of whack, normally it's only like 90 bucks for a 4 wheel but I had advised my shit was jacked and needed jesus in a bad bad way haha. 120 out the door dude has my thrust angle at 0 I'm happy with the adjustments and tried to take some pics of my car but I was failing in panorama land. Needless to say Cyrus is a cool dude, language barrier is what it is haha. But very open communication. I read a review from a friend on yelp who slammed his business and there was about 40+ positive reviews towards his negative and maybe one other negative review. Both chassis related, my whole suspension is adjustable so it should be a dream to work with. Added more camber in the front 2.5even Toe is 0.12L/R total .24 Rear camber is -4.0 Toe 0.12 L/R / Total toe= .24 He told me the math break down of things and said that it should either be 11.5 but since the decimal is already in front of the number...

Subframe Build part 2

Image
Upgrading my sub frame gave me the same feeling I got when I spend 1100 dollars upgrading my computer. MEH. I can tell you that the solid sub frame bushings doesn't change the noise output of my interior AT ALL as far as the whine I was warned about. Besides the alignment being shit now and the car feeling like a flamboyant boy child striking a pose while driving or my e brake totally having no kind of slack at all, or the brake dust shield being pinched on a rotor and smoking the whole way home haha.... I can say those are all little nuances that can be repaired later some creative thinking and another pair of hands got these bushings pressed in.  dirty feet it's a think of beauty! and they will be replacing this guy below Center of bushing completely separated from bushing body causing SHIT handling/vibration/DEATH CLANKS Goodbye old subframe.  I love how I have this thing up side down for a comparison ...

Subframe build PT1

Image
You've read, seen, probably have done this once in your 240 life and you will agree that it's probably the most unpleasant feat of work you have to do to a subframe period. Stopped by Jordan Innovations (big surprise) Hey don't eat that, it's my dinner.  Quickly's it's only fair I eat like this before spending the next 6 hours in the blistering heat BBQ Air Chisel, PB Blaster, Circular cutter, bushing butter Solid Subframe bushings in place (not pressed in yet)  It was pretty windy so it kept putting the fire in the bushings out, that was kind of annoying. I eventually cooked them all up, which kind of sucked because this subframe's bushings were damn near new. But if you ever want to convert to solid bushings or any kind of bushings and your car is your daily I'd recommend a spare subframe to do this with. Luckily Jack let me use his spare s14 subframe in trade for mine which should just fall off of the car at this point the ...

Preparing for Nisei 2012

Image
I will be showing my car at the I mport Showoff Nisei 2012 show , while I don't plan on getting any awards or a sweet magazine shoot offer (because my engine bay looks like a bag of dicks and I don't have fake racing seats and red fake bride fabric stitched everywhere). I do plan on seeing a bunch of friends and getting sunburnt. Repainting all of the aero, and my garage S hood I think it's a little excessive, maybe I'll do zipties in the back, or something because taking off my wheels just to remove 4 screws to take my my bumper and side skirts was SUUUUUUUUUPER annoying. how long before I get a cop to fuck with me for this plate setup, no lights. Donked the fuck out. LOL! the wheels look like 20's now.  Car height hasn't changed at all, but that's basically how low the vertex lang kit would sit, without it on I have so much ground clearance it's retarded. I feel like i'm driving a sporty suv now. I have a few odd's and ends I n...

Where did your build thread on Zilvia go?

Image
I've spent the last 4 years working on my car, and everything pretty much has been archived here. I go through this every now and then and re-write certain posts, get rid of unnecessary content. I mean before I would take a picture of anything, turn a few bolts and be excited to share my day with other people. I am also working on ditching my premium member subscription to photobucket. I don't like a lot of the changes they've done to their site so I don't want to be a paying member anymore. Since my build thread is FUELED by photobucket on lots of websites it becomes a necessity for me to continue to give photobucket 50-60 dollars a year for shit hosting, shit compression, etc. I can take all of those images, upload them here, quality is not compromised, space is unlimited, and with the hits the blog gets monthly, daily, yearly I don't need to post this car all over the internet anymore. People come here to read what I do to it. Plus I am sick of all of the f...
